Any posture that defines your personality and gives you comfort is a good posture. Posture plays a definite role in acquiring a healthy lifestyle. Now the next question arises, is there any specific posture that every individual should follow? The answer is NO. Since every individual has their own physical issues and a way of living life. Thus, for each, there can be a different set of postures. Why are postures so important? Whenever we acquire a sitting style, muscles get involved. In a wrong posture, the muscles get hyperactive. This further, in some time, leads to musculoskeletal diseases. The main question arrives, What is the perfect posture for me?

Self Assessment

Self Assessment means assessing your posture. If your posture while doing work is giving pain and making you take medicines more than fresh air, you need to immediately change your posture. Your sleeping style, working style, and work intensity are what matters. If you have to sit all day long on a chair and work, as of bank worker, it will give you back pain, neck pain, and shoulder pain. Whereas if you have work where you have to stand all day long, you may get back pain, leg cramps, hypertension, and loss of energy sooner just like a lecturer.

Rectify Habits

After assessing your sitting and standing postures, you need to rectify your habits. The habits which we are talking about are sitting all day long. You need to get up and relax your body while walking in between your work. If you are walking and standing all day long, exercises and proper rest can satisfy you. Other than this, if you can not take minute breaks, then your chair should give you proper support at your back and neck. Your legs should rest on the floor. Your elbow should get proper rest on the hands of the chair or on the table. This avoids shoulder pain. Try to have your screen on the same level as your eyes.
